As of today nearshore wise there are no reports beyond the surf cast and paddle board gang. So if you are looking for that, you have to wait until we have a true opportunity to work!
Surf Wise there has been some wind. Great larger drum bite Hatteras Point, one or two taylor blues in the nice class caught along Nags Head, one or two puppy drum on the upper beaches. I spoke with someone who was looking for the first cobia and is in cruise mode at present. So you see? All in all fairly normal on the nearshore scene.
I want to thank Michael J Hall who has placed some nostalgia on U Tube for me! They were my gang and came every season. Bob made the best Carrot Cake ever and those guys casted their hearts out every trip. He was always filming years ago when the rockfish were chugging in the wash and along the beaches. Think 2003 t0 2007 or so. No big iphones back then but those U Tube posts were great and really made my day! The effort and roll it took to catch them some days made it a victory when it worked! This is the past tense as this run here does not exist for some time now. When the food moves, the fish move. That is what the data has said.
So as we dust the memories off and get ready for Summer, we will be welcoming you back. Thank you for those on the books as we are still polishing up and counting down to being at the Marina! Some new items for our crews to make it nice! If you have not fished us before , know that the above was Winter fishing lol! Don’t panic! We are looking for the lazy days of summer!
