Hang on for the Ride because I have alot of reports coming up! Social media has helped on the fly but for those not taking part in that, this can suffice.
Reaching back to the end of June and start of July, alot has blown through. We have seen a dominant pattern of fantastic temperatures at the beaches, NE breezes, and cooler summer than we normally have. Our blues pushed inlet side and have overall made a better showing than the last two years.
I enjoy that as it means I can leave the poles for the anglers and turn them loose! Everyone gets a bit of nostalgia on where they might have been growing up and on the water. That has not slowed the progression of ribbons who have made their way to chomp on some anchovy and minnows. It didn’t take long for summer to place them at our feet. Whether the parents brought the kids for the mixed spanish and blues or our sea dragons, the action has been good. (some anglers not in frame. I get it! shy!)
When the ribbons showed up they brought a “faker” or two with them (think false albacore). Moon’s always look like something out of the Dory movie but always a nice surprise. We had a few more shake ups along the way. One storm blew around enough it might have well been a mini depression. That and a few cold fronts have kept our ocean shook , flat, shook, flat-it has been an “on your toes” type of summer.
It is the summer of grab your “ride or die ” partner, get out there, see the dolphin show, be a family and make sure you don’t skip that. We are always grateful. Sure, we get tired, our bills are on the counter, laundry piles up but we do our best never to take the fact you were aboard for granted. We are just an old chick and a seasoned pro working in the element lol.
Photos: some folks were not in frame but know that they have popped up on the social as well!
Next report coming right up!
Thank you to all, lets have a normal summer!
