New Year New Digs

After telling my crews ” it should be done” the new Oregon Inlet Fishing Center scheduled doors open May 1st, 2024.

Hello! Killer Views and Deckside Dining & Drinks

Captains past and present were able to take a look, talk amongst themselves as to what they see and what the season may hold, and take it in. We were treated to the marina’s new eatery which quickly became popular for what we could have this summer! Tackle will be Oceans East inside the store and eatery will be Sea Chef Dockside.

Go online to see their schedule ! It was bittersweet to see the 1981 black and white photo of crew and captains on the old porch we knew so well. That building area is in the 2025 plan overall so more to come. Crews here along our coastline; I personally feel they are some of the most successful and well versed captains in the area locally inside and out. The reputation of the fish and seafood that are caught (and released )here are made by the shoes on the deck. Plain and simple. Speaking of fishing….

Currently it is right “snotty” on the water! That was a ‘no’. Our NE winds pumped up late yesterday and will slowly begin to die out starting tomorrow. Offshore (gulfstream boats) you will have to check with them.

They took the Salted Path. Welcome to 2024!

** Nearshore on this end we still have cold water. Usually it warms up mid to late May but sometimes we get surprised in April! All dependent on the winds and currents. Seas were 4-6 ft so nope. We will see conditions tomorrow. Into next week, it is going to be beautiful sunshine wise! 70F-80F is what is on tap weather wise.

If there is a species you are interested in please ask before you book! Hatteras is different than Oregon Inlet and different from Virginia Beach. It does not translate as fish can migrate throughout the season! lol

Thanks!

Viv and Will McPherson
