Sometimes we get folks on their anniversary! Spending double digits together is an accomplishment now a days as well. I want to thank them for the extra photos they gave us as that helped greatly (hence they kept me moving).
Cobias: early June was our showing! Last two years those fish have moved faster and faster up the coast. This meant you had to be there, be alert, cast your arm off and get lucky! Hatteras and Oregon Inlet both had shots and then those fish were on the move up , up, up! I am not saying those fish cannot pop up now but know that it has been close to 12 days since the last one was caught around us.
It was the right conditions, the last of the push for our fish around the beaches, and a fish that would eat! lol. Yes , fish get full, cold, hot, spooked and everything else! Photos of the water shot are credited to my charter for her fish!
My congrats go out as she also landed a big sow trout the very next day on their open boat trip! Someone had a horseshoe! That was the last cobia I personally saw and I am looking each day. We had about a three week on and off push overall of the fish.
Meanwhile…the ribbons have made a very early showing and that is a dominant fish. We have also caught some and taken to looking around along the beaches and off as well when weather permits. That is what we do to try to stay on top of what is moving! I still have more photos coming so hang on and as we continue here, I will post it!
