Moon, spin, cast-Squirrel!

We had beautiful full moon nights of late. Know that it can be a nightlight for the fish as well. Sometimes nearshore, they can get turned around on feeding cycles. Summer has set in, water bottles and hoses are out, and the flip flop dance on the sand getting to the beach towel is in full swing!

Every day we can

Fishing continues on the roller coaster. Slow pick, good catch, back to the bottom for shark, deep troll ; it is not sitting still so you may see a few techniques. Flip side of that is my crews. We have had experienced, first timers, 20yr regulars (yeh, that gray we earned it folks) and my junior anglers.

Those young adults were in the cockpit, some picking a fish, some cranking. Top award goes to those parents that picked up a camera and said “you get it” to those teens and adults. THAT is so worth it. It is so easy to take it for granted because perhaps we have had alot of opportunity for that.

Love!

Try seeing it through their eyes. Every moonfish, spanish, blue, albie could be new. We notice. We applaud. We all work so hard at home that maybe dial it back to your grandparents’ day when you first went in a boat, on a shore, etc. Menu; “fogetta about it.” Picking and choosing doesn’t necessarily exist! Just ask before we hook up!

Boats continue looking for drum every day right now. They are behind schedule. In my 43 years I have seen it where if there is predation on schools, they are not showing or eating. It is survival mode. They vary and they are big pelagic fish. They are going to show when it works for them. This includes knowing just because you may mark them, does not make them bite! I love those adds….like a machine controls biology. It is almost as if they suggest it is not temperature, wind, feeding cycle.

The parents this season: they have it right. 100%. create what works This was a Nemo trip lol

With water in the 80’s on our end, this is alot like 1988. The Outer Banks has seen some of the clearest water for its swimmers this year! Those photos you saw online were not photoshopped lol. I read up the line out of state they are seeing alot of jellyfish. Ah, summer. Sea turtles love them. We took the 4th off and back out today!

OPENINGS : this week. Call Will at 252.423.0039 cell. Remember 3/4 trips are more time but that does not always equate distance. We are trying to fish where we can find the bite and it can change every day. Lots of traffic this year! Sundays are awesome to beat some of that.

thanks to those aboard
