We have seen a bit of bait move into place as well and that is perfect. The occasional surfer, paddle board, fisherman from the surf;what is not to love? I have really enjoyed my crews. I would take 1000 of them to any work grind we have that is day to day. They make the difference. Folks have come from the rivers, mountains, cities, and all areas in between.
Philly and NY have been “stepping up and enjoying the break.” We have been putting some blues and spanish in the mix. Then, when fishing allows, perhaps looking around for the next thing. It is never a short attention span but as long as you are happy and understand that fishing is fishing; we are happy weather permitting to do that! Drum have been like a bad relationship: on again off again.
We look every day! You may or may not but always worth keeping everything ready. I absolutely don’t need to chest beat like a gorilla: I can remember when you were allowed one large one to keep and honestly, the stock is better off allowing the slot we have. IMHO. The big ones are a blast, they breed, but you had to cook them like a pot roast!
We are still seeing some predation along the way and the small shark have been fun on light tackle. They also are eating right along on bait so when the option works, nice! I hope the folks I have been able to see have enjoyed themselves. Fish don’t have to cooperate.
