July is the gauntlet leading to August. The last few years were very busy on all fronts. If you were not here the last two years know that we booked weeks out overall on some dates and booking for a third trip was not an option overall.
We had some species show up early, some barely making a show , and some that are becoming part of the summer landscape! I think sometimes we can take for granted getting a hook up and want to run the gambit on species. Fish can become scarce, hot, uncooperative on many levels. Any day I can get out there, put my lines in, get some hook ups is a good day. It is a massive bass pond with no borders and they don’t have to like you!
We fish rain and shine make no doubt about it! With the summer temps the rain has been a welcomed sight on many a day we can get it. Alot of that has gone north this summer to Virginia so we just wake up for the go, get our gear out and go!
Sister and Brothers, cousins and friends; it is all in the make up of the seasons guests. I know folks have wondered what the heck happened to our Spanish? Glad you asked! We have seen very little on that front as the ribbons have been dominating! Listen, if you were a spanish and this fish was sitting on its tail like a blade of grass waiting for you to pass, you would not be there.
They are the Beetlejuice of the fish world in our humble opinion! I have another report coming up and alot of photos that folks have been sending me via phones! Thank you! I have had great photographers of late!
Next upcoming openings: August 6th am, 7th am, 8th am or pm.
if you need a 3/4 trip please call our home so we can discuss that on those days!
Cheers and thank you to our crews!
Catching up on the catching!
