We are incredibly lucky folks! Current forecasts demonstrate that our Mid Week cold front could be the trick that pushes the tropical system on an outside track. Just pay attention as we work through the season. Paying attention for weather is up to ya’ll. As fishermen ,we hope Puerto Rico and several islands are back up soon. We have friends in sandy places laced with coral in between. Every cove with a net, a boat, a place to eat we see as counterparts.
We are currently expecting swell starting mid week. If we had to choose that or a cat 4, thank you NE breeze up! A saving grace for the wind gradient. So where has fishing been? Social media buttons are on the page so hit those if you are not seeing our reports. We have been successfully untied the last few weeks and that is the quickest “byte.”
We have snuck in a few of the pups to be released but best of that has been in an outboard back around the islands! Oceanside we still had some albies and spanish running back and forth. Some days all albies and a roll, other days all macks then one or two albies.
Everyone is in transit! Fish are moving and the boat traffic also! Who would have thought the Staten Island Ferry would get a tow past us during our fishing trips?
Some days we go out and it is a hunt. Fish do not stay still, they get hot, cold, full, and finicky! Do not think it is guaranteed. I love Fall because you just don’t know and I think it is some of the best time to be at the beach. Fair to say, it is the breath we get to take prior to some rest. We are due rest based on 3 years of go, go , go! I think my childhood friend making an “appointment” to get together in 2024 for my birthday was a HUGE hint. lol
We are fishing this week but know this week from this Thursday through this Sunday ,we are not available. Every day is different and we have found fish soundside as well. Some nicer blues, few spanish and two drunk ribbonfish that should go home to Miami! For the two legged humans wandering the sands on vacay; slow down, enjoy the sunshine, grab a green whatever and chill the heck out! You think you have to fill every minute but maybe, just maybe not with a hard schedule.
Cheers to the morning. We shall be back at it tomorrow!
thank you for it all the last three years! We are grateful!
