Blues, “Bonito,” Spanish and more!

We have begun into the day to day fishing which helps us keep on top of what is moving. Our regulars have been pre-dating us ahead so we know when they arrive, when they leave, and what their plans may be. We have been sound side, ocean side, back and forth along the coast along with alot of other small boaters.

Major Teeth no doubt.

Weather has had some stretches of pretty and that is what has helped us out! We are so ready for summer temps and its consistency! We started off the year with some nicer big blues as the cold waters held their attention. This is a very traditional fish for us and we enjoyed every double up on that fish. Not to be outdone, we moved on a shot of Spanish for a day. Then just as quickly, the bite shifted again.

The Bo Macks were in a school then vanished again!

That is what they do! They shift as they are not set up yet. We fish each day as it is presented to us and that is how we move around lol. We have absolutely everything set to go. Casting rods got used yesterday! We have more to post so keep up with the social media for the quickest reels. Ronnie (pictured below ) did more than fish with us. He was surfcasting at night and beached a rather nice shark! I have that picture somewhere and will do him proud when I can pull it up! This trip, he got every pole as he was the sole angler!

by land and sea he landed it!

All my crews have been great, true sportsmen, peeking at the new sunshine this week. I have more coming up! Thank you to those aboard! If you were targeting something always speak to us first prior to booking. We work with time of year, season, runs, and that is the way the tails have always moved past here! If you were here in the sixties, I can show you my own picture holding a Spanish. I was eight. We did not get into big numbers until decades later which shows you how things change. Knowledge and techniques have evolved and so have water temperatures. Ribbon fish? We never made a season on them height of summer charter wise until the last decade overall. You could write a book! Cobias are already moving. This is the same quick pattern as last three years. Not like 10 years ago where you were clocking them on a slower path. Boats in Va have already reported seeing some. Lots of young fish so far that are released in our area right now. More in the next report!
