Posted by It is finally Summertime! Fishing yesterday and recently has fallen into place with a few species showing their colors. Fishermen have worked hard to get to this point and without fish doing their thing, we would be crying the blues!
Pretty days with a breeze have kept most of the heat where it should be. Normally, we have a breeze up in the afternoon that acts like a fan. I have had several two person charters , father son as well as spouses and it has really freed us to mosy around! Just a few triggerfish of late when conditions were good put some on the plate. Ultra light is the way to go. We don’t get them if the conditions change so it can be a coin toss. Always glad to have time and that shot!
Take only what you need and use what you take! Flounder remember are not in right now so they all go back until a brief season falls in! We fish for those only on days we get pushed out of the ocean right now as the ocean has been the place to be!
Spanish showed their spots yesterday and occasionally we are still seeing a good pull for stand up! Best advice I can give is to go fishing, cross the fingers and let us work as we do not like to sit still but we have patience! It takes that! Largest game I have seen so far was just a few shots on drum and one big shot on black tip. They move miles in a day so please don’t think there is a magic “spot” as they can move in and out of range for the trip time slot. There is no “everything” trip unless you are plain lucky on top of good fishing. If you are, know that every trip is different!
